Member Mission Meetup – March 7, 2024
Our first-ever Member Mission Meetup was held where members gathered to gain insights into Impact Grant Chicago’s latest operational highlights and to share their personal appreciations, as well as areas for improvement. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Common Pantry, a 2022 Impact Grant Recipient, for generously offering their brand new community space for our gathering.
Mingle and Jingle – November 28, 2023
Ringing in the holiday season, Impact Grants Chicago hosted a festive gathering at Evoke Chicago at Salt Flats in West Loop to celebrate our members and their generous contributions. A wonderful French Wine Tasting was donated by member Connie Molitor of Fine Wines, Inc. We exchanged greetings and welcomed many new members at the well attended event.
Lunch and Learn – November 8, 2023
Impact members and their guests gathered to hear our 2023 Lunch and Learn panelist discussion, It Takes A Village: The Impact of Wraparound Care. Our panelists included Friends of the Children Executive Director Taal Hasak-Lowey, Lawndale Christian Legal Center Executive Director Cliff Nellis, Open Books Executive Director Eric Johnson and Revolution Workshop Co-Founder and Executive Director Manny Rodriguez. The panel was moderated by Yolanda Lawler, Program Officer from the Steans Family Foundation's North Lawndale Initiative.
Fall Kick Off – September 26, 2023
We kicked off our 7th year for Impact Grants Chicago on September 26, 2023 with some wine and hors d'oeuvres at the beautiful Moment building. It was wonderful to see all the members and guests who came to connect and support another year of impactful giving.
Impactful Conversation with 2023 Grantee Lawndale Christian Legal Center - September 11, 2023
We heard from Executive Director Cliff Nellis and the LCLC team about their holistic approach to violence prevention in the North Lawndale community.
Impactful Conversation with 2023 Grantee Friends of the Children - Chicago - July 20, 2023
We toured FOTC’s bright and welcoming space, saw the “clubhouse” and heard compelling testimonies from an inspiring group of leaders and mentors. We also learned about their Back-to-School Supplies drive; donations are gratefully accepted here until August 10, 2023.
Impactful Conversation with 2023 Grantee Revolution Workshop - June 29, 2023
Members got a tour of the Revolution Workshop training floor and a look at the beautiful custom furniture and charcuterie boards produced by their clients (more information here), followed by a compelling presentation and Q&A session with the RW team.
Volunteer Shift with Chicago Furniture Bank - June 20, 2023
21 Impact members and guests spent the morning unpacking and sorting donations and making up kitchenware boxes for CFB clients. We packed 70 boxes with plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, utensils, and other kitchen items that are presented to clients along with their furniture.
