Impactful Conversation – Growing Home, Inc. – July 2019

Our July Impactful Conversation hosted Danielle Perry, the Executive Director of Growing Home, Inc., and 25 Impact members and guests. Over dinner featuring produce from the gardens of Growing Home, members learned more about the organic farm in Englewood, which provides job training to Chicagoans facing employment barriers due to histories of incarceration, homelessness or substance dependence. Our grant will yield an additional 8,000 pounds of produce per year, which will be distributed in the Englewood community, and provide more farm work to support the job training program.

Impactful Conversation – Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance –August 2019

Members of Impact enjoyed a wonderful presentation and tour led by one of the Urban Roots Teen Docents from Garfield Park Conservatory, the program funded by our grant.

Fall Kickoff – September 2019

On September 18, over 100 members and guests attended our 2019/20 Kickoff Event at Jackson Junge Gallery to celebrate the start of our third year as Impact Grants Chicago. Attendees enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while sharing some social time with old and new friends. Impactful Conversation – Center for Conflict Resolution – November 2019

40 Impact members and their guests enjoyed an Impactful Conversation with the Center for Conflict Resolution. Over dinner, attendees learned more about the new program funded by our grant, the Juvenile Re-Entry Mediation Program, which will be the first program to offer eligible Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center residents free conflict training and an opportunity to participate in mediation with key individuals from their lives as they prepare to leave detention. The program can help change the course of a young person's life.

Impactful Conversation – Facing Forward to End Homelessness – November 2019

34 Members and their guests enjoyed a light breakfast and welcomed Rev. Douglas Bradshaw, Facing Forward's Executive Director, as he shared the status of our grant. Attendees learned more about what Chicago's homeless population really looks like in terms of the prevalence of women and children in homeless or unstable housing situations. Everyone was inspired to hear how effective Facing Forward's "housing first" model has been in addressing this population with a nearly 100% success rate.

Lunch and Learn – November 2019

Healing Hurt Communities

Over 120 women attended this year's Lunch and Learn where our expert panelists Manda Carpenter, Danielle Perry, Esq., Octavia Tyson, LCPC and Rev. Carol Reese, LCSW, provided us with a multi-lensed view on how trauma affects our communities and what is being done by their organizations and many others to lessen these effects.

Grantee Show and Tell – January 2019

We had a great turnout for our first ever Grantee Show and Tell event at Gino's East! Our 2018 Grantees, Communities In Schools of Chicago, Ignite, La Casa Norte and One Million Degrees, each gave us an update on the projects and programs our grants funded and the incredible impact they have had on their organizations.

New Member Cocktail Party – February 2020

New Impact members enjoyed a lovely evening at the Chicago Art Source Gallery getting to know each other and the Impact leadership.

2020 Grant Awards Celebration – May, 2020

Impact Grants Chicago's 2019/20 year concluded with a virtual celebration of our four $100,000 Impact Grant recipients and our three $30,000 Merit Grant recipients hosted by Animoji President Kristen Pettit Grube. Please watch the video below for a reveal of our Grant recipients.
