Q. What is the Ambassador Program?
A. Ambassadors are responsible for making new members feel welcome, informed, connected, and engaged in our mission.
 

Q. How many women will I be mentoring?
A. Every Ambassador will mentor 5-7 women, depending on how many new members and Ambassadors sign up each grant cycle.
 

Q. What does an Ambassador do to get started in their role?
A. Once you are assigned a new member, you will email her (we provide a template), tell her that you are her personal Ambassador, ask her if she would like to set up a short call, and/or offer to answer any questions by email.
 

Q. What if new members ask questions about Impact Grants that I cannot answer?
A. We suggest you familiarize yourself with the information on our website including the Membership FAQs and Volunteer sections. If answers are not found, please email our Director of Member Engagement, member-engagement@impactgrantschicago.org
 

Q. What other duties does an Ambassador have?
A. Ambassadors set up at least one in-person event so that the women they are mentoring can meet for a coffee, a happy hour, a walk or another social activity you choose. You may also invite new members to Impact Grants Chicago events that you are attending so they know someone there.
 

Q. Can I arrange for my new member Ambassador group to get together with other Ambassador Groups?
A. Yes. Group activities are a great way to have new members meet other members.
 

Q. How long is the term of the Ambassador?
A. We ask that Ambassadors mentor their new members for a full grant cycle (June to May). Ambassadors will have the option to remain an Ambassador the next year.
 

Q. Can I be a Grant or Financial Review Chair and be an Ambassador?
A. Yes. Since being an Ambassador has a modest time commitment, you can easily do both. 
 

Q. I have only been a member for 1 year, can I still be an Ambassador?
A. Yes. We will help you learn more about Impact Grants Chicago and how to support new members.
 

Q. When will I be assigned my list of new members?
A. You will be assigned new members on a rolling basis as they become members. Membership signup is from June 1 to December 31, with most members joining in October, November, and December.
